We are a Nonprofit Public Art Space

Footlight is a 501(c)3. We rely on community support, in kind donations and grant funding to sustain our programming.

The Footlight emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the emerging arts community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. We prioritize paying artists 65% of the admission regardless of draw. We understand that emerging artists need a platform to grow their audience and learn their craft. Small stages like ours are essential to the arts ecosystem in NYC.

To sustain our mission, we have registered as a nonprofit and received a 501(c)3 determination as of 2025. We are always exploring grant opportunities. In 2023 Footlight Presents has been the proud recipient of the Live Music Society "Toolbox Grant" and the "Little Venue That Could Grant" from Indie Space. In 2024, we were a recipient of the Flushing Town Hall: Go Queens Grant, and last year we received a Citizen Neighborhood Business Grant.
